SSL

SSL or Secured Socket Layer, is a protocol for sending data in the encrypt (disguised), with an authenticated communication, via the Internet. First designed by Netscape Communications. Most are used in communications between the web browser and the server. URL that begins with "https: //" indicates that the page is presented with this type of secure connection. SSL provides three (3) important things: Privacy, Authentication, and Message Integrity. In this type of connection, each part that communicates (eg, browser and server) must have a Security Certificate (Security Certificate) and send them to each other. Each section was then to encrypt (lock) what is sent with the information contained in the certificate and certificate of spouse, ensuring that only the intended recipient who can read encrypted messages (in encrypt) it, and shipped from location rightfully and content of messages sent is not changed. With such a security, SSL is widely used on commercial sites to execute transactions via the Internet or sites that send sensitive data.

Secure Socket Layer is the way a website to make a secure connection to the user's web browser. Each time a web surfer to visit a secure site that uses SSL technology, creating an encrypted link between their browser session and web server. SSL is the industry standard for secure web communications and is used to protect millions of online transactions every day.
