What is Server?

  

   The server is a computer system that provides certain services in the network. Server powered by computers whose specifications are fairly large, also operating system specific. Server can run applications and administrative control of the resources contained therein. Need to know what kind of operating
system used by the server include:

1. Application Server (Application Server)
 Server is a server application that is used to store a wide variety of applications that can be accessed by the client.

 Mail Server is a server that serves correspondence or email service. client can organize incoming email and client are able to send and receive emails simultaneously in a computer network.

 Fax Server is a server that serves fax services a company or agency. With the fax server is also useful for any fax request to receive faxes.

 Application Server is a server used to run an application so that all clients can access the application simultaneously. 
11. Streaming Media
 ServerStreaming Media Server is a server used to run a variety of multimedia such as video, music, and so on. and the client does not have to download it first to play it because it can be directly played back. 
12. Home Server 
 Home Server is a server that is used for home intertainment services such as music, movies, video specifically for home service. Home server can also be added to a variety of services such as web services, file service to backup data.
